I have used the S-100 Total Cycle Cleaner liquid form and DieHard is correct it is green. I have no idea if it is the same thing as simple green but it does look like it.
pyrol tyre shine for tyre walls, not tread.
mr sheen, aerosol, for claening paint, chrome, leather, mirrors, plastic and polished metal and it also waterproofs.
no need to use water or wash the bike unless it is covered in mud.
just spray on and polish off to a streak free shine.
ps. only made in Australia and New Zealand,
Bretho.
MER. http://www.merproducts.com/ Just apply it to paint and chrome. Wait for it to dry and wipe it off for a super shine. I've used it for years. You can also add it to water if you're that way inclined but I prefer to keep my bike dry as much as possible. Don't throw away that old tooth brush. I use mine for those hard to reach places and laced wheels. Plain old boot polish brings my tyre walls up a treat.
Once again I'd like to tap and vast knowledge gathered here. I've only had my Sporty since November and had itwashedand waxedby the dealer three times during maintenance/oil change - upgrades. When doing it myself what are some tips for a professional look (I've added even more chrome to the Custom). And... What are the things to avoid so I don't hurt the finish, electrical system, etc. Thanks, Jeff
Hello Jeff,
I'll let everyone else recomend products, and just add a new prespective. Use the wash time to kill 2 birds, and inspect your bike. Get in the habbit of doing that and you'll catch small problems before they get out of hand, or worse, get you stranded somewhere. I like to use a bucket of warm water with dish soap (non filming)and a wool mit, that way I can "feel" the bike and parts as I go around it. I wash both of my bikes weekly during heavy riding season. Another thing to make sure of is that, if you choose a wax, make sure its non-abrassive. One of the reasons I like Meguiars is none of theirs are abrassive and they make different products for different stages of your bikes life.
