I put a screaming eagle coil on my 88 883. I now have no spark. I put the old coil back and still no spark. This bike is my salvation. I despritely need to ride to clear my head. please help!!
I'm not an expert by ANY means. But this is what happened to me.
I had the same problem, changed the coil, still nothing. In tracing all the electrical... I pulled out my Crane Ignition to see if I could test that. When I pulled it out, I noticed the rotor behind it was dangling. Somehow the screw that holds it in place had backed out, letting the rotor spin freely. I dabbed some blue locktight on the threads, screwed it back down. Put everything back together and she fired right up.
It took me hours. I was a dumbass and missed a wire. Of the 2 wires on the + side the blue was short and had become disconnected. I got the manual, saw I should of had 2 wires and then lifted the tank and stuck it back on. Problem solved. Thanks everybody.
