I personally don't worry about stuff like that, I'm heavily insured.

I personally do not buy insurance, I'm self insured. Will cost much less in long run, no overhead.

I would reassess not always locking the garage. Why make it easier?

If you're really that concerned about it, I would suggest getting a New York Noose and run that through the tires and frame and, hopefully, to your car or to your lamp post.

Most simple bicycle locks are enough to foil the amateurs. I doubt, though, that there's much that you can do to dissuade a determined professional.

It is mandatory to buy insurance where I live. The State will charge you money for a uninsured vehicle, including motorcycles. Got to love Maryland.

I have reassessed the situation and learned from the incident. My household is now on lockdown.

We have mandatory insurance here, too, cost me $65 a year, does not cover thefts.
