Odd "Sound" Coming From Engine.
yes you'll need to check your plugs if you have no other paperwork showing anything done by the dealer. You'll want a nice "copper/tannish" color.
White - to lean
Black/Sooty - to rich
It's a good idea to check your plugs every now and then anyway, just as cheap insurance. It's not like it's a difficult maintenance item.

Sorry it took so long to get this pic posted. Been busy with the holidays and on top of that my gf wrecked her car on X-Mas eve...Anyway, both plugs look about the same. IMO they appear to be in good shape. I will probably replace them this winter anyway - just because I can. I am still baffled by this "sound" though.
