The instructions say it fits between the fender and strut side plates. The instructions are just to remove the bolt on both sides, slide the sissy bar mounting plates between the fender and the strut and then reinstall the bolts.

Yeah, there are some rubber spacers on the inside that might get in the way, though. Just make sure they're between the metal and fender or you'll end up gashing up your fender paint pretty bad.

I just installed the same sissy bar. Pretty easy to install, the only bump i ran into were the tail light bolts on the inside of the fender. I also went ahead and removed the cover that covers the fender mount.
