son has a 2012 883 iron and he got a set of v&h big radius 2into2 for Christmas. what are people having the best luck with processor wise? power commander or v&h fuel pack.

Unless your son goes with a stage 1 air cleaner in combination with the pipes there's really no need to go with a tuner, but when he does decide to upgrade his A/C the most recommended of the tuners is the Power Vision, for it's ease of use and other options like viewing data as it happens, data logging, etc. Search here, there are entire threads dedicated to this tuner.
And for the price...hands down cheaper than others w/better performance/quality/support.
Interesting they did not compare to the ThunderMax Autotuner, which frankly I think is a better tuner than all of them. In full disclosure I have run the Power Commander and FuelPak, but not the Dobeck unit.
I would not go back to any kind of piggy back unit.
Did you use a canned map to start? If so, was it from Dynojet or from a 3rd party, such as Fuel Moto?
I used the one from Fuel Moto. It seems pretty damn responsive. Im still learning the PV software and such, hopefully I'll get to log some rides in the next couple days. Im very very pleased so far!
