Default please help

ok i think its my clutch slipping just because i got 15,000 miles on it and i ride like an a-hole and do alot of hard launches, burn outs and stuff..

i have a 2009 nightster with the energy one extra plate kit clutch kit with 15% stiffer diafram spring

out of no where the other day i felt a weird feeling in 2nd gear one time, it did not do it agian rest of ride so i did not pay any attention to it..

now its getting worse and doing it more often but its not everytime its maybe every 3 or 4 times u shift in and out of 2nd gear

the easyest way to discribe how it feels is if u had pully bolts loose and the pully shifted a hair then its fine

i checked swing arm bolts, pully bolts, sproket bolts everything is tight

problem only happens in 2nd gear and not everytime

does this sound like clutch is slipping just in 2nd gear or does this sound like a have a problem inside the transmision in 2nd gear?

bike is smooth in everyothere gear and after it does its slip/or what ever its doing in 2nd bike is smooth in 2nd gear too

i am stumped if someone can please help beer is on me!

So, like it "skips" for a moment or two?

1. Make sure you make a solid shift into 2nd, even new shoes can make a difference in "feel" on the shifter.

2. You can check the shifter detent plate and bowed snap ring for wear or looseness.

I had a problem with 3rd gear skip, but #1 was the real issue, so far.

yes it skips its only after its in 2nd and u been going for a few seconds so its like it engages start giving it nore throttle and then 2 to 3 seconds after you rool on throttle it does it 1 time and some times it does it 3 or 4 in a row but that is rare

is it possible you are missing some teeth on you rear belt? or that the belt is loose and it is jumping on the sprocket??

get the bike in 3/4 gear , low rpm.
then roll the throttle wide open.
as it accelerates , pull the clutch in and let it out .
the engine should rev, then drop its rev's instantly.
if it runs hi-rpms for a second or two , then your clutch is slipping.
