I have a 2012 superlow, and went for a ride today. I had stopped at a friends place and when wet to start bike the fuel pump came on and engine just turned over one time. tried to bump start it with no luck, had to borrow a battery charger from nieghbor to get started.
when tried to bump start do you let clutch out and then pull back in as soon as engine tries to start.
Assuming that you have power through the system after the first failed start, it sounds like either a loose battery connection or the TSM has forgotten the ECM password. If the latter is the case, the bike will never start until the TSM learns the ECM password again. Fortunately, this is a straightforward process.
I thuught since the fuel pump would run that I could bump start it.
after a short charge to the battery she fired right up. I am thinking may have a bad battery, but will look at battery cables first.
thanks
He had enough juice to turn the systems on (engine turned once), but not enough amperage to sustain the starter. I don't own a fuelie but I've pull started plenty of fuel injected vehicles so long as they had enough juice for the ECM, and fuel pump.
Check your main ground on both ends, all connections ect. Charge and load test. Chances are your right with the bad battery thinking.
Would like to know if its possible to push start a fuelie HD, just for my own knowledge.

If you have enough juice to hear the fuel pump whine but not enough to turn the starter you can bump start it. If the battery doesnt have enough to turn on lights or anything........then your screwed cause you need fuel pressure from the pump and signals to the injectors. If it happened as quickly as you said Id check both ends of both battery cables for corrosion and tightness.
