I am wanting to put a fairing on my 48 but I can not decide if I should. Just want to get everyone's opinion? Good bad anything let me know what u think. Here is a pic of my bike.
I'm looking for the same thing. I also just got the same bars as you. Our bikes look the same except for the seat and tank color. I'm considering the Memphis Shades Gauntlet. Not sure yet.
I personally wouldn't. I mean I know it would make rides much more comfortable, but to me it's like swapping the tank out for something bigger. If you buy a 48 and look for a fairing, large tank, more comfortable seat, etc, why'd you get a 48??? It's badass but it's not for long rides. just my $0.02. I just went from a biltwell seat to a springer. trading my bars for drag bars. it's just one of those bikes, its looks badass, its fun to ride but not a touring bike by any means.

My reason is and starting new. The 48 was the best Base/Foundation, collection of parts, price wise to build my vision of the sportster I want.
the roadster is the best sportster option as of now. i have a 2013 48 and the 2016 are sweet, but the roadster with inverted forks and dual disk brakes, and more travel in the rear is the way to go. you wont have to getting a crappy aftermarket tank plus paint. you do not need to upgrade the front or rear suspension (assuming the new rear shocks are good)
i put a new tank, new rear shocks, fork cartridges, ss brakes lines on my 48 and i still bet the roadster riders better.
