I see youre in Ga. Im in NC, and the bugs are the main reason I use a shield. Riding through bugs in the south can be annoying and dangerous. some of the flying critters here are just huge! Get a windshield and ride safe.

When I use to race dirt bikes they had a thing called a peel away, it was a sheet of thin plastic that fit on the eye shield of your helmet, when dirt and mud accumulated alls you'd need to do is grab the tab and peel it off, then you'd have a clear view once again, we found by flipping them and putting the tab on opposite sides you could stack them 3 deep, as I remember they were extremely easy to install and made life in heavy muddy conditions viewable.

I just bought the National cycle gladiator windshield, put it on last night, it looks pretty good, and is fully adjustable, so you can raise it up to nose level or lower it down if you want. I went on a quick ride last night and it seemed to work pretty well, although I did adjust it up higher when i got home. The other good thing is on a custom sportster it is two bolts on and off.

I'm going to do a full review after using it for a few days. I couldnt find anything when I was searching.

Where has all the imagination gone around here???!!!

Affix one of these bad boys to your forks and activate it when approaching the lake, and your bug problems will vaporize:

As a sidenote, did you know that flamethrowers are totally unrestricted in the US, with no license or paperwork required to own or operate? Yay! Unfortunately they're a bit pricey and a scarce commodity, plus you just can't go down to your local flower center and get those tanks filled!

I'm surprised that with all the enterprising minds around here noone had thunk of this simple solution, sheeeeeeeesh. LOL.

=8^)

My first 2 miles out of work at night are 30 feet off a creek. The multiple May Fly hatches per summer can be brutal. I completely understand the OP's problem and my QD windshield is the perfect solution. It's high enough to duck behind till I'm out of the 'kill zone' then I can just sit up like normal enjoy the ride home. Then starts the real pain, cleaning the bike.

And for those who haven't had the pleasure. A hatch isn't like just regular bugs when wheeling down the freeway, it's like riding through a blizzard!

Hah! blackSP rotflmao. DrewBone that would work for tailgaters too. Calvin Candie let me know how it works. jester 08, thanks for understanding the situation. All I need is enough deflection to get the bugs off of my face. Thanks to all for the input and hilarity.
