I have highway pegs. No crash guard though. I don't use them too often, but they look cool

No crash bar but I have the HD highway pegs with mid controls and am very satisfied with the fit, finish and function.

I have the Harley Crash bar with Highway pegs and love it. I do have forward controls on my 1200C but this helps to stretch out a little more on long rides

I bought the Harley rounded crash bars. Glad I did. About a month ago, bike parked out front, I sat on the bike, side-saddle like, both feet on the jiffy stand side, but on the seat, just putting on my gloves, and flip, there goes the bike. Me, *** over elbows on the ground, thank God noone with a video camera was around or I'd see myself on youtube.
Sure, it was a bonehead move. But, the bars saved my bike from the otherwise inevitable scratches and rubs on my paint and chrome.
I am not sure about the other brands, but the rounded ones Harley makes allow the bike, should you do a boneheaded move like me, to kind of roll, keeping all (except maybe your pipes) your shiny chrome and paint from massive concrete abrasion.

mine has the harley bars also.. i dont mind the look.. my bike is pretty chromey so it just adds to the chrome.. I am only 5'6 and also have forward controls so highway pegs are not needed.

Install, bolts and alignment were all right on. Also don't think the bars are to wide as lane sharing is not an issue.

Could be a form over function decision for you. Some say form - looks better without. Function - might save a leg in an accident and cosmetic damage in a tip over. I like the form and function and would install again.

Nothing wrong with installing highway pegs to get your legs from cramping on long distance journeys. I do not have them and can't offer a recommendation of brand and fie.
I have a friend that lost his left leg in August.
I think an engine guard could've helped. (Hit broadside by a minivan)
