What is the widest tire that will fit the 48?

 

That is an open question! Just what are you asking? If you have the stock rear wheel a 150/80, which is the stock size IIRC. If you mean what is the widest you can get in with a wheel change, look up Tzrider's recent 180 tyre thread on his 48.

 

Sorry bout that, what i would like to know is will a 170 tire fit my stock rim or do i need a wider rim?

 

You will need a wider width rim, but a 170 isn't going to fit (mount) on the bike without modifications to the bike.

 

what modifications do you need to have done? because i seen 3 people running 170s on their bikes... but nobody seems to want to help when you ask questions.

 

I mentioned this thread above, which shows what is involved in fitting a 180. Not much different to doing a 170.
