Just out of curiosity - why would you want to disconnect the front turn signals, particuarly when so many crashes take place at intersections? Personally, I like to let other traffic know my intentions, especially the traffic coming at me.

I took mine off of my '75, way back then but now, with all of the texters and cell phoners, no way I'm taking mine off.

Good Luck getting yours to work.

Much simpler to leave them on!

I bought a new bike back in 1971 when indicators were first installed on bikes and hated the darned things - but not for long! I soon learned that I got seen more often.

I just don't understand why someone would want to reduce the visibility on a bike when cagers claim they can't see us even with the lights we have. Makes no sense to me.

You will need to add the resistance blocks back in the line so the system will still think they are there. Get them for the LED conversion. You should be able to run the rear wire thru it to the bulb. Be sure to measure the resistance of the front bulb with a meter and check the resistance block to make sure it matches. That said, I think it's pretty foolish to remove them from a street bike. Half the time I wear a reflective vest like the military wears around here for Langley. Cut out 99% of people not seeing me like before. Removing the front running light could open yourself up to the fact that even if someone pulls out in front of you, a good lawyer could get them off if he noticed your mod, least in VA since they are require on any modern bike (last 20 years or so).

True dat. Here in NY if a bike came with factory equiped directionals from 1985 up, they gotta' be on there:

NYS Police:

"Any 1985 or newer motorcycle must be equipped with directional or turn signals. Any motorcycle which was originally equipped with such signals, or to which such signals have been added, must have them inspected. Turn signals must show amber to the front and red or amber to the rear."

Eh, lets just be honest, Cagers cant notice our turn signals for squat. If you really want to be seen your better off doing hand signals. I still run my signals now, but I always signal with my hands at a busy intersection, and ride defensively as if any car that can pull out in front of you WILL.
