Most of the parts that are unique to the 48 would be gone.
(fork lowers/fork brace/triple trees)

I've looked at them before for about $1000-$1500. Never pulled the trigger.

Dang! $1000 buys a lot of gas and ramen noodles.

I've heard that springers are pretty much all looks, and lack performance. However that picture is pretty damn cool!

they bounce around cause its springs not the telescopic front ends that most bike have which are a lot smoother i saw one on an iron and it looks ****ing sweet.... they are really not that bad the people who say that they are lacking preformance have probally never ridden with one...its just something to get use to...i saw them on j and p for 600 to 1000...not any more pricy then putting another kind of front end on the bike

Just for the record, an HD Springer w/shock rides sh!tloads better than these Sporty forks. The ride can't even be compared. They perform outstanding and as long as it has the shock, there is no pogo effect. Hell, even the Softail is a MUCH better ride than the Sporty's swing arm & shocks. But without a shock on the Springer, it would lose all of its ride quality.

+1

A lot of the people complaining about them don't understand the geometry changes a springer introduces and just install whatever fits.
