Default 1200C Pull Back Handlebars

OK, for those who have requested them, here are some pics of my new Pull back bars installed on my 05 XL1200C. They are not the best as by the time I got dinner made and the kids homework done it was getting dark. There are just not enough hours in the day. So, here you go. They are a little dark but you should get the idea. The after pics are also a little large but with my new camera I can't seem to resize them any smaller. Sorry!

Howdy Heather, thanks for the pics of your new bars. Does the adding of the pull back bars seem to help your ride a little? You are younger than I am, but leaning forward to reach the bars seems to bother my lower back a little and I was wondering if you were the same way. Thanks they look great.

Springer, yes they help a lot. My back and neck would ache everytime I rode. I couldn't stand to be on the bike for more than an hour before. Now, I don't seem to have that problem. The true test will be over Labor Day. We are riding to Deal's Gap which is about 8 hours from Indy.

I hope that you two have a great and safe trip, keep the rubber side down and the shinny side up.

Heatherc,

Thanks for the pics - I'll call off the collection agency now!

Looks like they're just slight pull backs that obviously are giving you great satisfaction, and that's what counts. I had wondered what they looked like ON the bike, and I like them. Nothing radical, just more comfortable without detracting from the overall good looks of the bike. Great choice!

Thanks again for the pics!

Thumper, if I recall correctly they have about an inch or two more pull back but also bring the bars up and out also. They really are more comfortable but have the same look as the stock bars. I don't know why they don't just put these bars on stock. I suppose it is so you'll spend the extra $350 to put them on yourself.

I think that you hit the nail on the head. If they made the bike just the way that you wanted it, then people wouldn't buy any mods and the HD people wouldn't be making as much money as they are now. Plus, I think that it would be hard to make everybody happy so they just put out a product and it's up to the individual buyer to decide what they want to do with their bike.

Hi Heather,

I have the pullbacks too, and I was wondering how you like the wider ergos compared to the stock bars. I really like the pulled-back-ness of them but I'm considering sawing an inch off either end to narrow the reach a bit. Makes me feel like a human sail on the highway!
