Then when the time comes, this winter, purchase the wideband autotune to accompany the PV and you're golden.

great advice right there. that will be the way i go. would there be any advantage if i went with the wide band o2 sensers right off the bat or would the narrow band o2 sensers be better for now and the wide band better after the mods are made?

i hope you don't mind me picking your brain here. old school hot rods i know like the back of my hand. i can limp my way around fuel injected cars without mods and i'm totally new to harleys.

if you can get it all at the same time, no harm no foul. The Autotune module allows for a whole plethora of tuning options, because of the "wideband" sensors. Although the narrowband allow for some, albeit very little, tuning, the difference is pretty big in what the system is able to adjust. If you get it now, you basically are just about "plug and play" after that, barring any displacement changes (you'll learn all that stuff when you get more into the PV). You can take a fairly close "canned map" and then set for autotune and away you go. The canned map will get you close, the autotune will adjust the variables according to your riding style. You then apply those changes to the map, and start all over until you're satisfied. You can keep autotuning a map til your hearts content.

where is the best place to get the wide band o2 sensors? i'll order them in two weeks. i ordered the tuner today. what would happen if i put them in now with the system i have now? i'm ganna guess the thing might run like a pop corn popper.

most folks around here get their PV stuff at fuelmoto (they are a sponser here and most everyone here is happy with them and their service), I don't know if they have the best price or not, maybe someone else can chime in on that...the only difference between wide band and narrow band 02 sensors is their ability to 'sense' a wider mix variable...so putting in wide band will just allow the PV to do its job better...if you put them in without the PV ..hmm, good question, I would think that it wouldn't make a difference and that the stock controller would only register the narrower part of the voltage change...
