I may not have my Iron just yet, but that doesn't stop me from making a list of future mods. I'm having a hard time choosing pipes. Yes, the V&H Short and Side Shots are great, but it seems like every Sportster under the sun has them and I'm not looking to have a Modified Sporty clone.
Does ANYONE have the Sweepers on their scoot?
If you do, please give me some feed back such as: *Torque Gains / Back Pressure Loss *Horse Power Gain *Effect on Fuel Econ *Do they Backfire or Spit? *The Sound / Loudness (Does the sound bother you on longer rides or at highway speeds?)
Most importantly.....how much do you like them overall?
Thank you all in advance for your input!
I guess no one has these pipes of did I upset some people because I don't want to be a V&H follower. Like I said in the post, I like the V&H, I've just seen them far too often and that's fine. I just don't want to have the same pipes as Larry, Moe and Curly at the Rally.
I know what you're saying, but IMHO I think it should only be based on what sounds good on the bike to you and what you think they would look like on your bike.

It's probably because someone was just asking about these last week. There was a big long thread about them vs. the short shots. There is a search tool for this exact reason.

I like the look and the sound of the Sweepers from what I've seen from the youtube videos that I've watched. However, I can't find any performance data using them on the 883 power plant. All of the data I find is based on either the 1200 or 1250 motors/kits. I was hopeing someone here on the forum might have put these pipes on their sportster and would share their experience with me.

This type of thinking is the cause of many "why does it run like ****" posts.
well when putting pipes on a stock 883 if you are planning on leaving it stock you might as well buy the pipes you like the look and sound of as they are not going to influence your power enough to make it worth considering performance over looks and sound. if you are planning on more mods down the road like air cleaner up grade, ecm upgrade, 1250 kit, head work, cams then you might want to put some more time into your consideration. adding just an exhaust and nothing else should probably be done with only looks and sound in mind.

I know about the search bar. I read all of the treads related to the Sweepers, but I couldn't find the one that you mentioned. The reason I posted about the pipes despite the ones that were already posted is because of looking for specific performance and experience feedback...would really like to see dyno maps of these pipes from a members bike. Secondly, I'm NOT trying to do a comparison between the Sweepers and Short Shots. I don't want them period. Great pipes but they just don't appeal to me considering they no longer stand out amongst the crowd.
