I made this same mistake TWICE and the Harley Dealer made it one of the times, IT IS NOT THE PEGS, they have two different pegs one is for the passenger (rear pegs) and the other is for the riders position, take them back make sure they understand you want the front pegs, when you receive them as most do not carry them IN STOCK they have to order them look at the back of the box and make sure they say Rider position..

Yes they will work, mine came today. Long one goes on the right, short one on the left. Mine damn spare set of brass pegs still haven't come but you can see it fits fine.
