And, if you've ever run fairing mounted speakers on a bike at highway speeds, you'll know how loud they have to be cranked up to even hear them, and then you've drowned out the surrounding traffic noise anyway.
cHarley I was so hung up on thinking ear buds that I hadn't even considered the helmet system ...geeeez! ...so at "reasonable" sound levels its not that much of a distraction? Perhaps I'll give it a go one day if'n I'm feelin' frisky, after I buy the cupholder, LOL.
I've never ran a fairing mounted anything but I've heard the systems you're speaking of that were installed in these baggers I've seen while on the road in my cages, both driving by and at stop lights; gotta' admit, they were 'loud as $%@!
I have a 04 sporty and wanted some kind of music while riding as well. Iwent with the Pyle 600W Amp with Speakers for the price ($110 on ebay) and truthfully,im happy with them. They do start to sound like crap if you get over 70ish, butfor in town riding and pleasure riding I can hear them just fine without drowningout traffic sounds and I always wear a FF helmet as well
I wired mine up so that I have to have the key on for the speakers to workthat way there wouldnt always be a pull from the battery. Seems to work finefor now. I also have a small magnetic tank pouch that I keep insurance card anda little extra cash in that my iPhone fits in perfectly so I can plug and playmusic anytime.
Ill post some pics if I can figure out how. Im new to this forum so theymight not turn out great
