I'm looking for ideas on mounting my speedo on my Nightster somewhere other than the stock location. I did the side mount with an Autometer bracket, which looked great, but I didn't like that it was hard to see. I put the stock mount back on, but it looks horrific with drag bars. The RSD cafe mount is sweet, but it's a lot of coin.
Back when I was still deciding what I wanted to do, for a time I had it side-mounted. I bought some perforated flat stock at Menards, curled it into a circle, ran a bolt through to hold it in place, and bent the other end into an L to mount to the tank bolt.
Rattle canned it black and done, and I could make it stick out as far as I wanted (thatswhatshesaid) so I could still read the speedo around the tank.
I'm actually pondering ideas as well. I think I'm going to have my brother in law laser cut out a mount to go on top of the triple tree and angle the speedo back a little. So kind of like the rsd but kind of not.
