So after getting my bike road ready I've got these two spare bolts...they are OEM Harley. Where the heck do these go? I went over every nut and bolt on the bike I could find.
All I did was replace the front and rear tire, pulled rear fender, removed battery, changed out handlerbars, pulled the primary cover to change the clutch cable and pulled the air cleaner to inspect.
I did get rid of the sissy bar, saddle bag, and my old seat. But these bolts don't seem like they fit any of that.
Itching to ride but nervous while I have these unaccounted for spare bolts
You can see they go pretty deep into whatever hole they are supposed to be in before the threads engage. Looks like only about half the threads are used, you can see the un-smooshed anti-seize compound on the upper parts of the threads that the previous owner put on.
the true sign of a master mechanic is extra parts! I once helped a friend rebuilt the carb on his jeep and ended up with extra parts...twice!! it ran like a top when we were done though. I think the extra parts is was was causing the problem to begin with! ;-)
Every good mechanic has evtra parts wheb done. They say that they cloin them selfs when taken off. Just through in the extra parts bin on the shelf. Mite find a use for them some day
