Don't know what your auto parts stores are called in the UK, but we have chain stores w/everything imaginable. I'd use this, if you have something equal over there and scrape with "plastic" putty knife...don't want to mark the metal...

Yes, auto trans fluid...nothing better to use on pistons/rings for initial fire-up.

Sweet, so can I use that instead of assembly lube if I cant get any?

Yes - Assembly lube is more usefull on bearings, pushrod ends, rocker arms, lifters and cam lobes, but not entirely necessary in this case. Just use your normal engine oil and fill the pushrod tubes with oil to aid oil flow/pressure on initial start-up.
