Easier answer is no, not with the stock seat.

Reason: the 48 pad uses the rear and middle hole to mount to the bike, and the stock nightster seat uses the middle hole to mount.
You will need a stock 48 or 72 seat to make the pad work.

I don't wanna sound like a tool, but I struggle to understand why with 99% or more of bikes being made come set up to take a passenger, anyone would buy a bike without a back seat and want to install one. I mean, if you want to be able to take a passenger why not go with a different model? Not being sarcastic, I just really do want to understand. I see a lot of people with nightys or 48s going this route.

Just because a specific model comes as a single rider shouldn't keep you from buying it just because you want to be able to have a passenger.

It's not a big modification to set it up for a passneger (well for me it is because the previous owner chopped the fender and struts).

And to be honest, I wanted a Nightster. Didn't want an 883. Love the blacked out look. Didn't want something very big. So what does that leave me with? Modify to fit a passenger.

Agreed it may be easier to buy a bike that is set up stock with the capabilities of carrying a passenger, but when THE bike you want doesn't come with that option, make the adjustment.

Personal choice I guess but I just feel like it's a small trade off to make a mod on the bike you want instead of having the mod you want on a bike you aren't crazy about.

Plus, if I had a bike that came with a stock passenger seat and sissy bar, I wouldn't have seeked out awesome custom work like this:

Well, you will need that passenger there to avoid slipping back... The shape of the seat is one that does not help keep you on it...

I thought folks were exaggerating until I rode mine a couple of times. I swore that the stock 48 seat would never be on my bike again!

To the guy asking why anyone would want to change thier seat...Passengers are fun. Seat swaps back and forth. No biggie. Many bikes come with rider seat only. I don't buy a bike for the seat that comes on it.

I'd just mention that pillion is NOT comfortable, even for my 9 year old...so you might just want a real two-up seat....
