I would like to know if theres any way I can use my mid controls and convert them to forward controls. If I can what would i need. I have a 2013 Iron 883. I would love some advice.
I have a brand new set of forward controls I took off of my 2013 harley 48 im selling for 350$ . They include everything needed to switch to fowards. Let me know .
I can't help with a new set of take-off forwards, but here's a thread that helps explain why you can't convert mids. Someone claimed it could be done, but no pics were provided to substantiate his claim and evidence to counter his assertion is provided: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...-150-00-a.html
I finally found a set of forwards on my local craigslist to covert my Iron. They are out there just keep looking. Got them for $250 OEM off an '04 sporty.
Nope, different mounts and I think one of the clevis rods is different. Plus you have the need for a different shifter and the extended linkage.
However, you might be able to post up in the trade/swap section, some folks looking to swap forwards for mids, might be able to help you out.
Not to be rude at all, but this is most definitely incorrect. I have done the research AND the actual install to do just what the OP is asking. I tried to do a step-by-step of the ordering and install. Take a look at my post and feel free to ask any questions if somethings not clear.
PS, I've put over 500 miles on with this setup. I opted to go extended instead of just to where harley has their forwards from the factory, but if you ordered the shift and brake rod you could easily go to the "stock" forward location.
How am I "most definitely incorrect" when the parts you stated in your "how-to" are the exact parts I said he needed with the exception of your extended brackets?
The mounts used for mid controls are different, be it the angles and pin holes to hold the clevis at the right angle so your foot peg folds the correct way when needed. One clevis is different because it doesn't account for the extra width needed for the shifter assembly.
