Question Clutch issue, please help!!

Ok, here it goes.....On my way home from work one morning(I work nights), Im a couple miles from my house. I notice a LOT of play in my clutch lever. Up to this point, no issues at all. Anyway, coming to a stop sign, I start down shifting like usual, and the clutch is now grabbing like right off the bar, to the point that it does not feel like it disengaged all the way. Complete stop, now lever feels fine, clutch feels fine. Take off, upshift, now at speed, it feels "loose" again. Same thing as before when down shifting and stop. The next day, I pull my cover, release the cable adjuster until very slack, recheck my clutch adjustment.....it adjusts exactly the same as it was. Put the clutch cable back to proper adjustment. Take a ride today to have lunch with the wife, on the way back, starts the same crap, except this time, its almost stuck. I get to my driveway, try to hit neautral, will not go because the clutch is partially engaged!!!!! With the lever pulled in, and off the brake, the bike is trying to pull forward!! Would this be a sign that my clutch is bad or damaged? Ive never ran into this problem before. I have 25324 miles on the bike. Any idea why the clutch would adjust, then just randomly "lose adjustment" for no particular reason? Help me with suggestions please!!!!

DO NOT continue to ride the bike.
You very likely have a clutch Spring Plate failure which is a very common problem at about your mileage. If caught early, the repair is fairly inexpensive, but if you keep riding it, you'll likely destroy the entire clutch basket and that can become a very expensive repair. (~$900 - $1,000 if fixed at the dealer)

What happens next and how much it costs to repair depends on whether you're going to do a DIY clutch repair or have it done by a dealer or indy.

I was going to say the same thing, but you beat me to it.

Sorry, I use the Motion Pro compressor tool. I was afraid of breaking the basket, I've read of it happening.
Get a pic of what you find when you get it apart.

REMINDER: Be sure and soak the new plates before installation. I let them sit overnight in an oil bath.

May be too late now, but Energy One has the kits with the tool included. You can also get the tools on places like J&P Cycles. I'm not really aware of a good way to remove the spring that doesn't require some sort of tool, homemade or otherwise.
