Thanks Prayinghands. Those are leather wrap covers. I got them on ebay from Plunderdogs. Not sure if the sell them anymore. You can buy bulk leather and cut them to fit though. just drill some holes in them and tie them on with some leather string.
depending on how tall you are is how tall of a bar your gonna want. I am 5ft 5" and have 10" Licks cycles Z bars with 1" risers and love them. 29" spread. My arms are at about shoulder height when riding.

that's from licks cycles. It's called a get back whip. Quick disconnect leather whip.back in the 60's-70's bikers would use a whip or chain to hit a car if it cut them off or get to close.

At 5'1" ..... Ya a little when you are stood up next to the bike and over your head when seated on it. At 5'1" there is no way 14" bars are shoulder height when seated unless your feet dangle above your mid pegs! Cause that would be the worlds lankiest torso! Hahaha
