most people just don't know. The power to weight ratio on a sportster is better than most other harleys out of the box.I think people that have never riden a sporty just assume that if it's not a big twin it must be slower then theres. Every year i test ride harleys in lake george N.Y. i never get to impressed with the power of the big twins. the ride is what makes the difference. the bottom line is that if you want power out of a harley get ready to pay for it.
I typically won't bash other peoples rides if they're happy with it whatever but I would never buy one for the simple reason they're just too slow. They're also just too much money for what you get. If you're a gear head and you want to build a 1250 I guess it's a deal but for what you spend you could get allot quicker and to me more fun to ride riceburner but to each his own.

Glad you bumped that. The 883 is a wonderfull machine. It's quick and adgile for a cruiser. It's not meant to compete with a ricerocket. It's part of American history. It's an icon. A fun bike to ride that is safe and will be your best friend as long as you own it.
