Default lifting?

I read somewhere, I dont know if it was here or another forum, about flipping lowering blocks to gain an inch or so. Problem is most that I look at cant be flipped by design. Anyone know which ones would work, or if there are lifting blocks available somewhere? I dont want to buy al new shocks to gain an inch.

I have DK blocks and I can't imagine them working in reverse. Honestly if you can find a decent set of take offs cheap the price would be close, that's what I would do. I purchased a set of 13.5 1200R shocks for $35 bucks from a member last year. Keep your eyes open on the marketplace and you might find something to fit your need for a good price. Patience is the key.

Shocks dude......get longer shocks to lift it. Don't use brackets.....IF they even make them.

well its only a semi serious idea, but my reason is I already have $700 Ricor shocks(13") and I am just trying to get as much ground clearance as I can without rubbing the belt on the brakes.

check craigslist and ebay for some touring bike shocks. They're 13" and give you the ability to set the stiffness. I just put some one my 48 and it lifted it a solid 2" and I'm not to happy about the look but the ride is 100x better and I got a bit more lean angle.

The only good kind of lowering blocks are one pieces that rest on the frame. Those cannot be flipped. The other kind that are welded together...they have a % of them fail due to poor design when they are used as lowering...I think the % failure would be even higher if you figured out how to rotate them for a lift.

Since you are wanting to use your expensive shocks and get more ground clearance, I can think of two ways to go about that. Have a machine shop make some purpose made lift brackets to essentially extend your shocks....or what may be even better is to move the mounting point of the bottom shock bolt forward a bit.

But those options may end up being more expensive that getting most of your money out of your Ricor shocks and getting some longer shocks.

Yes you do! Lowering blocks are only fit for the bin IMHO - as an engineer I won't let them near any bike of mine. Do the job properly old chap and get longer shocks and get good quality ones for a better ride.

Cool

Have a read of this recent thread about doing the same. Longer rear shocks, plus tips on lifting the front as well. I've done both to my SuperLow.

Y a I did my front already. Damper rods, racetech springs, intiminators. It rides extremely well now. I think I must be itching to have a project cause its been awhile haha.
