Installed a H/D standard quick attach and went for my first ride, wow this could get real easy to get use to, I do prefer the no W/S look, but I do like the difference in the wind not beating on you. Most likely remove it when the morning temps rise a little.
I was wearing a half helment, no real buffiting at 60mph.
Yeah, windshields are nice. I never had a bike with one before, but when I bought the Super Glide I knew I was going to be riding in the winter, so had them put it on. I thought putting a windshield on a Dyna was going to be a crime against humanity, but it sure makes a cold ride pleasant. And on the highway it's almost like being in a car. I'll probably take it off in the warm weather for rides along back roads, but I'm putting it on any time I have to get on the Interstate.
I like the look more without the windshield, but it sure helps with the wind and the feeling you are getting blown off of the back of the bike at 60 or 70mph.
I was riding w/o mine last summer, had my jacket open then POW! I got nailed in the sternum by a big ol' bee. Felt like a rock, left a nice stain on my t-shirt. I still ride without it on the backroads, but in the cold weather and on the hwy it's on the bike.
Windshield is a great addition regardless of the looks (I prefer the look wihtout) but I tell ya after several hours at hwy. speed without one and your exhausted, with it no problem.
I agree with most people here -- bike looks better without it but it cuts the wind a great deal and makes it easier to ride in cool weather.
That said, do you guys find that the top of the windshield is right in your sight line ? I find myself crouching down lower than usual on the bike to look under the top of the windshield.
