Pinning them is super cheap if you are willing to do some work. I think it works best, safest. Its really not hard, allot cheaper than knurling if you go to a machine shop. Down side is there is really no adjustments...
I have the Burly 14" bars w/ 14" wiring, mine have slipped a couple times. The last time I re-torqued the clamp I used Loctite on the bolts and they haven't moved since. Here's a pic of mine, you can see there is a bit of extra slack on the cables:
Thanks for the pic bike looks great but I'm thinking maybe 10"" z bars I will make my mind up one day.

if you check out my bike, iv got 10" z bars from road6customs.
i also didnt need to buy any cables just used the stock clutch and brake.
only thing i had to do was extend the electrical wires.
that was easy, a roll of wire from my local hardware store, some electrical tape and a knife.
and this was cos i wired them internally, which is super easy with the road6custom bars.
you might be able to get away with it if you keep them on the outside

Thanks knights that's just what I wanted to hear I to would like to internally wire so that has made my mind up,cheaper to with stock cables did you have to re-route the cables to fit.
had to take off the clip that holds the brake cable under the triple tree.
i had to reroute my clutch cable but that was because i have the headlight visor fitted, so it was rubbing the paint at the side
yeah them caps make the internal wiring sooooo much easier.
got my bars from ebay, came from USA though so had to pay a little bit extra on import duty, but well worth it cos i couldnt find anything similar over here in the UK at the time
