Default better to look good, or feel good?

i got a mustang vintage wide for the sportster, and it definitely feels better than the bare bones i had on there, but "to me" it looks totally grandpa and jacks up the vibe of the bike. i was also surprised how much it changed the handling. im a few inches higher, which totally changes the center of gravity. bottom line though, i dont like the way it looks. anyone feel the same? is there a middle ground? a seat that can handle longer rides but still looks sleek?

You should take a look at the Brawler seat, it looks and feels good, slim line not too big to my taste.
Also take a look at the C&C seats, they look awesome. Click here

I ended up getting the H-D Sundowner. In my opinion it doesn't look as good as some of the other seatsbut it sure is comfortable and if I'm not comfortable I'm not going to ride and for me riding it is the reason I boughtthe bike.

I guess I'm one of the lucky few. I couldn't be happier than I am with my stock saddle. I've put in a couple 10 hour days and it's been just fine.

whaap, you are not the only lucky one, I am happy with my stock 2-up seat too. The reason I go for a solo seat is because I am a single rider, don't always carry passengers.

I'm solol too. However I've got mine set up with windshield and the Harley leather, two buckle bags. When I'm going for a longer period of time I have a larger bag I tie to the mini-rail back rest and the bag sets on the passenger portion of the stock seat.

Sure the back portion of the seat is a good place to rest your backpack lol.

Though not the best look I think the Mustang solo looks pretty good on mine, of course I've got the narrow vintage which is a much smaller profile. I've sat on a few and comfort wise it's hard to beat Mustang.

I think the bottom line is how it feels and rides , looks are secondary to functionality, my opinion anyway, yours is the one that counts. I won a Mustang square back offEbay and thinks it's slightly better than the OEM saddle, somewhatbetterquality and cushion, but narrower than I'd like, 9" wide, Hey, just got a brain zap, wanta switch for a spell???
