2005 1200R, stock suspension (but not for long).
Sold my 1996 CBR900RR (bought it new in 96) to get the sporty in 2005.
Having a blast on the sportster.
If I scrape anything it's usually the heel of my boot - which tell me I'm close to scraping my pegs and lighten up. ******'s issue may be different though, I'd imagine there are circumstances that could cause problems but most pegs will move up with contact and not cause you to go down.
****** - so what happened to you?..care to share?
Lost the front end in a decreasing radius turn, June of last year. Broken collarbone, 4 ribs in the front broken and two ribs in the back. 12 weeks outta work, almost 3k in damage to the Scoot. Actually I beleive I laid her down cause I was going TO SLOW. Gravity took over. No sand, no gravel, surely wasn't excessive speed.
Ive scraped the stock exhaust bolts, scared me the first time, then I was excited about it. Mine is stock height and I dont weigh a whole lot so Ive gotta lean it over pretty far, yet to get anything on the left side though.
I leave lots of chrome on the corners. Its scarey but just keep turning and it'll go away. On the Sporty its usually the kickstand and the bottom of the pipes (if you have stock or long ones). Turning is still great and done with ease.
