Air Intake Disaster from Crankcase Breather - Questions!
Hey Everyone,
Bought my first Harley 2007 883L last July and just road it because I wanted to enjoy it. After being on these forums for some time and starting to slowly MOD my bike, my first issue is below. My bike has about 12K miles on it.
I have a screaming eagle intake and exhaust that came with the bike (private owner) and I've been reading about the breather bolts, tubes, etc. I decided to take off my air filter to see my hardware setup, etc.
I find this disgusting result from the oil going back into the air stream. I'm gonna convert over before I start riding again to a breather setup using DK's products.
My question is, how can I clean up the butterfly and intake channel? Could I start by spraying some seafoam straight in and go from there? I don't really know if I really wanna take off the intake and clean it up.
I just the exact thing. I have a Vance and Hines Duke intake and got sick of all of the oil going into my intake. I installed a new breather kit and blocked off the holes going into the cleaner from the old hoses. I really like the look of the kit. Easy job to do and the thing that surprised me most was how little in diameter the hole old breather were compared to this new kit. I'm surprised there was any ventilation happening at all with the old bolts. As far as the drain tube goes, I just got a few feet of 3/8 tube from O'Rieley auto and ran it down and out the bottom of the bike off centered to the right to avoid drips from getting on my tires. May be a placebo effect but I think in runs better at temp then before. That may be just my imagination; however, what is real is the clean air now going into my bike. Easy to do and worth the bucks/euro.

You have almost sold me on removing the SE Intake and going with yours.
I really like the look of a RamFlo oval filter. Any Idea how I could fit this?
Perhaps buy your mounting kit with breathers and fit one of these : http://www.debrix.com/Bendix-Keihin-...34-0040-vt.htm
