Has anyone come across pullback bar risers for a 14, 883 Iron? Just got one for the wife and she doesn't like how far she has to lean over. The bars slightly higher and back would be perfect. Standard risers won't work with the top clamp/instrument mounting as the bolts are in an offset pattern. We thought about the reduced reach seat, but the options are 1/2", not enough, and 3", too much. Plus the seat is $200 and she may not like it. Risers would be the less expensive option to experiment with.
Check out DK customs, we put 1 1/2" risor extensions on her iron and rotated bars back some. She felt it was much better as she too was leaned over too much. No cables needed to be changed, not sure about any higher with brake line.
Alpha, I don't think just any standard riser will work, you need something that will work with the factory upper clamp that houses the instruments. It needs to maintain that bolt pattern and the original angle that the speedo sits so that you can still read it and that it won't look funky.
you are correct about bolt pattern, the ones I have are correct. Funky is a matter of personal opinion, I went with a Joker Machine relocation bracket as I found the OEM placement to be funky.
I used a 4.5" pullback riser on mine, I'm not positive mine is the same as yours, but I found a solution to mounting the gauges over on the XLF forum.
Make sure you get round, not oval, risers. Then you can use a couple of clamps to hold the gauges. They are solid, I've been running like this for 2 years.

I just ordered the HD 4 inch curved risers for mine - part 56066-82A (same '14 xl883n?) but have not received them yet. Only prob is they are chrome and everything else on my bike is black, but... I did get the solo reduced reach seat - it helps, but IMO not enough. I'm not short, 5'7", but like a close-up controlled reach. I do the same thing in the car and hubby gripes all the time about how far the seat is up. I won't get my risers for about a week or so, but will post when I get them and installed.
If you want black risers, cancel that order. Get a set of factory risers for a Softail Standard (part #'s 56122-77 left & 56124-77 right). They're the same as the chrome units you ordered, but they're polished Aluminum instead of chrome. It would be real easy to have a powder coater hit the Aluminum risers with some black. You can powder coat chrome, too, but the raw Aluminum might have better longevity. Plus, I imagine the Aluminum risers would be 50 bucks cheaper.
Your speedo will have a near vertical orientation, unless you do something different with the speedo/dummy lights.
EDIT: I remembered I have a set of those risers (the Aluminum version), brand new in their packages, I'd let go cheap. Say, 50 bucks for the pair, shipped. If you can cancel the other order and you're interested, let me know. If you'd rather, you can email me, sportsterxl8832005-efeew@yahoo.com

You can always remove the instruments from the bar clamp and then do whatever you want as far as risers go, this is my '06 Sportster that I chopped pretty extensively over time doing mods. For the bars I used 6" risers with a 27" drag bar and mounted the speedo/tach on of all things, sockets with long grade 8 bolts, it worked out perfectly, I had the bar height I wanted. Remember, it's a Harley and you can do anything!
As I recall, it was referred to as the Xena Gauge Mod...
