It's a different look.. I don't hate it. Eager to see what it looks like when it's painted so keep posting pics! Much like others have said: It's your bike. Do whatever the **** you want with it! It's different-looking, and that's cool.
going for the cop bike look- still gotta get it painted. what do yall think?
Doesn't look like a police bike to me at all.
Tall bars & sissy bar are not police at all. The fairing isn't proportional to the bike, even for a police bike, the sportster is smaller than a KZ1000 & that fairing is bigger than a KZ1000 police fairing.
i've never seen ape hangers on a cop bike , never seen a sissy bar on a cop bike .
why would you want to make a sportster look like a honda cop bike ?
i case you couldn't tell i don't like it . maybe it will look better painted , i'll come back and give it another look .
I want to ride it, just for the nostalgia of looking at the fairing from the saddle. I decided a while ago that I didn't like fairings or windshields, but it'd be awesome to take it for a spin. 35 years ago, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting one of those fairings. Just the other day, I was talking to the OL about the Vetter fairings from the 70's after a CB750 went by. I think she even listened a little. The first street bike I rode, back in 1981, had one of those windjammers. Good times!
I'd say it looks a little out of proportion, though. Are you gonna take the speakers off the apes and put 'em in the fairing?
Waiting for paint pics.
The plan is to revamp the audio system and mount it in the failing. But in the meantime the speakers are getting relocated to the upper faring bracket (will post pics)
