I recently adjusted the clutch on my 2005 1200c because it felt like it was slipping under hard acceleration and the speedo needle was bouncing around. the bike only has about 3500 miles on it. I adjusted the clutch according to the manual and took it for as ride. The clutch felt great, but only for that one ride. I took it out again today and I'm experiencing the same vibration and slipping feeling under hard acceleration along with the speedo needle bouncing around like crazy. I have read that the rivets in the clutch tend to go, but at 3500 miles?

When was the last time primary fluid was changed? What did you use? What level did you fill the primary to? highly doubt you blew the rivets from the 2 steels that quickly.
The oil was changed within the last 500 miles with the hd brand primary oil. i filled it up to the bottom of the clutch diaphragm spring according to the book. about 200 miles or so after i felt the clutch slipping and adjusted it. now it is slipping again.

Did you fill it while the bike was leaning on the jiffy stand or sitting upright on a lift?
Seems as you have 2 choices at this point. One is to readjust again and maybe go 1/8-3/16 turn and adjust cable freeplay again. 2 is to pull the primary cover and remove the clutch pack and see what may be going on. Then you may as well do the extra plate clutch while in there whether the OEM is good or not.

Thanks, i am going to try and readjust it first and if that doesnt work i will take a look at the clutch pack to see whats wrong.
I have plenty of experience with this. But certainly not at 3,500 miles... Do you feel it slipping, or it is just the Speed O that is jumping around?
I feel the clutch slipping and at the same time i notice the speedo boucning around. Both symptoms stopped after i adjusted the clutch, but began again about 300 miles or so later.
I found when i adjusted my clutch this year i made a slight error that i will share. I installed a new SS clutch cable and when i put the clutch ramp back in. When putting the ramp in remember to screw it in via the center screw until it barely touchs the clutch than back out 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. If you dont back it out it will not grab 100% when you let out the cluch and will slip. Happens more when it gets hot as everything expands and pushs against the ramp. Just my experience hope it helps.
