Anyone out there have any trouble with the saddle on their sportster making the ride unbearable.
My sportster is less then 2 months old and it kills my rearend after only a 15-20 mile ride. I have to stand up at each red light and move around.
Any tips as to what I can do? I have looked in the 2005 parts catalog at the saddles and I can't seem to find the saddle that's on my
883 XLC. Is it possilbe that it could be a very basic entry level saddle or is there more to this? suspension maybe needs adjusting?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Ride safe
Welcome to the world of stock HD seats. I think they get a kickback from chiropracters. Try doing a search on the big three: Mustang, Saddleman, and Corbin. Maybe LePera, too.
Your not alone the stock seats suck...any of the above mentioned brands sould help. I gotta tell ya though 15 or 20 miles is a pretty short distance to have these dramatic issues...there may be somethin else goin on...you usually only see a difference on the longer hauls. I can ride 70 to 100 miles and my a$$ gets sore, but 15 or 20? Is the ole lady smacking ya to hard or somethin
Yeah, I'm looking to switch too. I go by time though...after about 45 minutes it gets a little painful. In Houston traffic that could be 4 miles or out in the country a lot more. Either way I'm trying to decide on a new seat...then I'll start saving the money. Anyone wanna contribute to the "get Stones a new seat" fund?
Thanks for the info.. I never thought my wife was hitting me that hard!
Seriously though... No one has suggested a new Harley Saddle..
are they all bad.. Corbins' are a ton of money but I guess it would be worth it.
I'll keep ya updated. I got a Mustang catalog in the mail headed my way.
Peace
I have the same problem ,maybe 30 - 40 minute ride then that's about it . But that's mostly highway cruising ,when around town or riding hard through some twisty roads the seat isn't too much of an issue . I'm not sure if it's the seat that bothers me or the same vibrations for an extended time .
