Wiring help
Hello everyone. This is my first time here on the forums. I just recently picked up my first Harley. It's has on 86 evo on a rigid paugcho frame set up bobber style.
I just recently ripped all the wiring and re did a few Mickey Mouse things that the previous owner did to the bike.
I put the wiring back together and started to test out each circuit.
When I got to test my new dyna 2000i ignition module I saw that the indicator light would not go on when I turned the ignition on. This is when I found that there was no 12v going to the coil when the key was on. I checked everything else and all the wires looked like is connected correctly buy there was still no keyed 12v going to the coil.
I'm assuming that this is a faulty Ultima module. I hooked up a straight wire from my ignition keyed 12v directly to the coil and wallah the ignition module lit up.
Is it ok for me to bypass the module and run a straight wire from the ignition to the coil?
