Bittersweet departure
Went up to Laconia yesterday 2-up with the wife - about a 45 minute ride each way or so. On the way home we stopped at the local dealer, and sitting out front was a beautiful '08 Deluxe with bags and a windshield.
Not sure if it's the fact that she liked the bike, or she had been cramped on sporty for a little while (neither of us are what you might call small folks), but she seemed to think we should see about taking it home.
As much as I love the sporty, I think the softail may be a better fit, both for my style of riding (pretty laid back) and the two of us, now that we are starting to do some more 2-up riding.
So long story short, we traded in the sporty this morning and I rode home on this softail...

[/IMG]I just wanted to say thank you to all you guys and gals here in the Sporty forums for the advice and input you've given me over the past 9 months or so. I'm sure I'll still wander over here from time to time...gotta keep an eye on the Sporty Challenge thread anyway...
Ride safe, and keep it rubber side down.
Dan
Edit: and no, that's not my wife on the back!
- now you do know that the Deluxe is the real 'girls bike" in the line-up, right?

and the Aria has been relegated to an MP3 player...
Until then, it's drive in and back out. But for the few miles I managed to get in on the road today, she's treating me pretty good. Still keep looking for the petcock to shut off the fuel when I shut down though...Glad to know you've finally upgraded the Aria - I'm 2 devices beyond it now, but mine is still my mp3 player as well. I'm running Winsuk's CM11 4.4.2 version - seems crazy that he's still devving on that device. Not quite as good battery life with the radios off as the Liberated ROMs, but the new features are nice.

Thank you Vikz250! Not sure why you can't see the pic...
Indeed it is, at least for the short miles I've had a chance to put on it today!
[return to normal DrewBone voice] Enhanced or not that smile is unmistakable and is all telling, regardless of your fresh sunburn! And that's an adorable little lady princess you have on the back of the new bike too!
Ride safe and enjoy the ride!
