i recently bought a 1200 sportster, and i am already thinking of what to add on,its a 2002 sport model, one thing i was thinking of was the handlebars, anyone have pics of theirs with the extensions and some straighter chrome bars with different grips? i would think the speedometer would look odd on it though and since i was already thinking of getting a new tank can i get one with a built in speedo?though i am liking the tank better now that i have had it for a bit, maybe just get better looking speedo and tach?
i am also going to have to get a better seat, and it would be nice to get some hard, detachable saddle bags,
looking at all this makes me think i should have just bought a bigger bike, but i like my sportie
is there a company that sells all this that is better than getting it through hd? or should i just get it though harley?
EDIT: would smaller ape hangers look good on a sportster? for some reason i dont think it would fit the cycle, i suppose its time to start scanning for pics on google
Too many companies to name that sell it all just be sure to shop around for what you want at the best price, I deal with http://www.discountcycleparts.comfor alot of stuff but also with Zanottis, Dennis Kirk, JPCycles too. If you want true HD parts buy them from a dealer like http://www.zanottimotor.com/or others that give 20% off retail. Pretty much all the digital speedos out there are very pricey so you might wanna make that last on your list and handle the comfort and storage issues first. I'm running mini-apes on my bike as you can see in the pic.
They provide great comfort for cruising vs. hunching over stock or drag bars. I ditched the stock tall pullback riser with built-in speedo mount and went with 2" straight risers and modified speedo bracket as well as new cables and running my wires inside the bars.
