New tips with factory header pipes and heat shields
I finally got the new tips I was looking for. A little while back I decided to remove the stock mufflers and run just the header pipes with some thunder torque inserts from dk customs for need back pressure. The sound is incredible and the performance is better than stock. The stock header pipes look just like the Nash pipes "looky looky" built by sikpipes. I really liked that look but my header pipes are scratched up, so I decided to customize them a little. I looked for the turn down/out tips that I now have and today I decided to slip them over the stock header pipes and quickly throw the stock heat shields just to see what it will look like. I have to say, I really like the look. Check out the pics.

Yes, I am getting results. Not sure the numbers but I definitely feel the responsiveness when I hit the throttle. Plus the exhaust sound is mean, like its going to rip the pavement up. I ended up getting the "W118" for my size pipes. DK Custom's customer service is amazing, call them up, let them know your set up and they will square you away. By the look of your user name I would think your in the Military? Get with them and they will get you a discount!

That looks good! I was originally going to do a "turn down" style tip, but went with the straight tips instead! Be sure to remember how much your bike vibrates when you mount them! You don't want to shake one off as you're riding down the highway!

LOL, good point! I am going to have them welded on and from there see if I will need to add any brackets to stabilize. I don't think I will need to because they are still very short.
