Hey guys, I picked up this '09 Nightster with just a hair over 4k miles as a rebuild project. The guy I got it from was the original owner and he hit a car in the front fender. The forks and front tire took the most of the hit. Besides the tank, the rest of it looks really good. Not really sure which way I want go with it right now...part it out, fix it back to stock, or put it back together my way and ride the hell out of it. If I keep it, I want to bob the rear fender and put a new set of lower apes on it. It has a clean title and a lot of add-ons too(A/C, V&H pipes, V&H fuel pack, forward controls...). I started tearing it apart tonight and will post more pics if anyone is interested in this project. I also got most of the stock take-off parts and a good set of forks.
Here she is strapped in tight.
Here is the front damage...
Tank...
L/H tail...
Front tire and disk...

Looks like a nice project. Hope the guy who dropped it is OK. Keep us updated
Yeah, he's ok. He rolled over the car and walked away with some bumps and bruises. The wreck did happen about a year ago, and he was trying to get around to fixing the bike.
Well, I got it torn down and washed it up. So far so good, I did find the coil wire got pinched when the tank shifted but other than the obvious damage, it looks good to build back up. I am able to find all the parts but the front wheel, might have to go to HD for that!
CRazy !!!! I was looking at buying this "little project as well" I was sadly to late. Im just down the road from you in Meridian.
Cheers
Yeah, I was dealing with the guy for about a week, waited for a couple of people to throw offers at him. I got a real good deal, traded some $$, guns and ammo for it. So far it's going good, a lot of the parts are good. I got a new tank already, front fender is on it's way and I installed the forks yesterday. I also got a lead on a front wheel. I'm now getting the smaller parts together.
Badass. Well we will have to ride some time. personally I would have found a 48 triple tree and use the larger front tire.
Yeah, a ride would be good, but I'm in MH. Lol...that's why I like the Nightster and 72's...the narrower front 19" wheel/tire combo. At the pace I'm going, I'll be riding this bitch in about a month or less!
