Default Front End Shimmy

It seems to shimmy when I let off the throttle with the clutch engaged. Clutch lever is not pulled in I'm slowing down. It is worse around 40-45 mph in 3rd gear. If I pull the clutch lever in it smooths out. It does it slightly in the same situation in different gears. It is a pretty bad shimmy. I haven't done any wrenching that would cause this. Stock clutch. I have a 2012 48 with 7,000 miles. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you changed the tires? Bad tires or unbalanced tires is one possible culprit.

That's what I thought originally. But I'm thinking it has more to do with the clutch. But it could be. I tapped on all my spokes to make sure one wasn't loose. The weights are still on the rim. I don't remember hitting a bad pothole.

Check to be sure all the motor mounts are tight, the front bottom is known to loosen and cause vibration, but check them all

Motor mounts look good. No play in the motor.

Shouldnt be at 7000 miles but wobble on deceleration is indicative of maladjusted neck bearings. And pushing on the engine to check motor mounts is not the way to do it, you need a torque wrench.

Neck bearings it was! I torqued the stem bolt to 40 lbs and it is pretty much gone. In the manual they have a whole procedure to getting it tightened down properly besides just torquing it down. I'm going to do that when I get time. But I did get about 3/4 turn before the torque wrench clicked. So it had come loose a bit. Thanks!
