Just a quick question to the current owners and future owners. Is anyone paying over MSRP for the Sportster S? I understand the freight and set up but a dealer near me is asking 17995.00 +++

I paid MSRP plus a hefty dealer fee/pdi/setup of $1,000.
I went into the dealership today near my house and they told me really close to retail and after making an appointment I had to wait more than a half hour they came back at 19,000, I laughed. Got them down to 17,000 and I walked out call another dealer about 40 minutes away got the price I want over the phone confirmed

I bought mine in November, and the dealer was asking 17,995. They told me that if I bought it that day, they'd give me a great deal of $14,900 (to be fair, this was technically below retail for the Midnight Crimson color). I eventually talked them down to $13,500, plus $1,000 for the extended warranty (4 years, plus tire and wheel coverage), and had them throw in the heated grips that (in my opinion) should have been pre-installed. I had to do the installation on those, but I thought that was a fair deal.
Ordered mine last Nov. Got the Vivid black for 14,999 which is the base price. They said they do have to add a dealer markup of $500. They said because I ordered early the markup is not as high. Also said all the 2022s of any model have dealer markups as required by the Motor Company and not the dealer, also claims the money goes to the Motor Company and not to the individual dealer. Now it being a Harley, I also ordered all the accessories I wanted (Sundowner seat windshield, mid mount pegs, heated grips, windshield, tail bag, passenger seat). They did give me a break on the installation costs.
I can't believe some of the prices you guys have been quoted!
Prices for the S here (Greece) went from 17k euros to 19.5K euros (including VAT and stuff, +300ish more various expenses).
That's about 21.6K USD, if you do the conversion.
Guess who didn't order a Sportster S
