Default Sportster S Seats/Tailkits

I am considering getting a Corbin Gunfighter seat for my S. Has anyone out there tried this seat? If so, how do you like it?

Corbin also makes a kit that relocates the brake light, turn signals, and License plate to the rear fender. (I really like the idea of getting rid of that goofy metal bumper arm.) Has anyone out there tried this kit? How difficult was the installation? I looks good in pictures; does it look good in person?

Thanks,
WLW

Default A little help here, please

Hey come on guys, help a brutha out here. Someone must have upgraded their seats and/or tail lights and license; I'd really like to get a little real world input before I start writing checks. The stock seat is about a two-hour seat for me, and I really want to put more than two hours on the bike when the weather is good. The two seats I am looking at are the Harley Sundowner, and the Corbin Gunfighter. I would really like to get the benefit of some first-hand experience with each of those saddles before I buy.

Also, I really want to get rid of that goofy bumper system. I have seen photos of the Two Brothers Racing (TBR) system, and the Corbin system. I'm somewhat inclined toward the Corbin system, in part because there seems to be some question about the brightness of the lights on the TBR unit. Corbin uses the stock tail lights/turn signals, so I know that has good visibility.

Sorry man, I'm not much help. Mine is still completely stock. If it's any help, I've researched it a ton and I'm leaning towards the Corbin Solo and TBR tail tidy, but haven't 100% decided. I don't even have 1K miles on my bike yet, so I was waiting for the first service before I decided anything.

Sorry - while I've change the rear end up on mine it isn't with a Corbin product. I might do that in the future but, for now, I've decided to go with a less expensive option. I had a friend order the light kit bracket so I don't remember where it came from but the 8" LED combination brake / turn signal light came from Dime City Cycles in FL for less than $70. I also bought a pillion from HD for about $180 for now. I didn't buy it as a seat - I'm using it as a 'rest' for my tools backpack which weighs more than I'd like so, while I wear it like a backpack, I'm resting the weight on the pillion which sits just a little bit higher than the rider's seat. It's working out well. I have to say though, that I really like the look of the Corbin Rear Fender / Undertail unit but I'd have to find a way to incorporate the pillion - or something similar to be able to rest my backpack on it. If I leave it as is, I'm afraid it would scratch up the fender included with this kit. The bigger change for me, though, would be swapping out the stock HD brake and tail light assembly Corbin moved off the ugly 'bumper'. In any case, I'm happy with how mine is setup currently but I really do want to swap out the seat. This one's pretty much useless for any rides over an hour or so. I also swapped out the pill style headlight for a regular 7" round LED headlight. While the pill headlight is a nice one, I didn't like the look of it on this bike. Good luck with your bike WLW. Once you've made some changes, post 'em for us. We love checking out each other's gear.

OK, I just ordered the Corbin Gunfighter and tail kit. Should be here in about 3 weeks.

I'll post 'em, once it is installed. I'll also give y'all a ride report. I have found that the stock seat is a comfortable one-hour seat, an OK two-hour seat, and an "I'm ready to get off the bike now" seat by three hours. I hope that the Corbin seat will keep me in the fun zone a little longer.

Man, it looks great! I especially like that 'hourglass' look it gives it. Can you tell us which model you bought AND, equally important, how does it feel now on longer rides?
