Double Dark
This is about my 4th BT45 Battle Axe that I've had on the front. By the time I usually retire them (20K + miles) they usually look pretty bad.
This one only has 11K on it and the tread is still very deep, but it is totally shot. The rubber has rips all the way around it and it is anything but round.
Never had one give up on me this early.
I'm going to order another one and try reverse mounting it. I've never given the reverse mount much credence, but looking at this one I starting to change my mind.

water dispersion
Just was in a conversation with someone about this, everyone running the 180 conversion on front seems to like the Avon's reversed, I mounted mine as per rotation arrow, designed to shed water in that rotation direction. Below are both examples, as the tire is rolling forward water is disperced to the outside , my bike on the left, tire on right rolls the wave to the middle and dead ends it just as you say.
