Default Dyno time

looking for opinions - what is a reasonable amount of time to dyno tune a fuel management add-on? Is five (5) hours excessive? It seems high to me, but that is what a particular place is wanting to charge. Any experiences?
Thanks

Please give more info on your build. A couple of things that can make a tune take some time. Combination of parts can cover a lot of it. A 117 set at 13.5:1 with a S&S 675 cam is going to harder to deal with than most stage 1's, but you can have a simple stage 1 that has a poor choice of pipes and this can add time to the tune.

Other thing to remember. Sure you can map VE in less time when things are going right, but there are other tables that can be addresses that can take a bit longer.

You can state what the build is and you can get peoples opinions on it, but ask yourself. Is this the time to cut corners and try to save a buck on my $27,000 motorcycle?

The actual Dynamometer machine has a lot to do with it. The older model set-ups can only tune one cylinder at a time while other models are able to do both cylinders at the same time. So sometimes 5 hours would be required.

it is the super tuner with V&H full pipes (had to get rid of the catalytic converter).

It also depends on how close the MAP is that they start with. Research the reputation of the shop doing the work, if it's solid and they have a history of satisfied customers then go off of that.
