Default is it time yet?

I passed up this years rally, because last years sucked so bad. So...what can we make to next years rally? "We' have stuffed a rest room with 42 people. We have had bar b ques with a Ford Pinto andf a Smith and Wesson revolver as the cooker. We have had banjo and accordian players serenading us...coolers of all matters of liquid refreshments.
We have had stickers, shot glasses, beer mugs, coffee mugs, t-shirts, hats and momentos...
I did not go to this years rally....and Barbara (who missed the poker game.......if there was one)....asked me what has been said about the rally?......What can I tell her, except.....not much. What was the highlight this year? Any awards presented? Anything? Anyone wear a boa? Tri-cycle races? Nuthin?

I felt a lot of tears cause U didn`t show up . Highlight should have been a discussion on how the people who volunteer to keep this going for CHUCK can do a better job

The Rally can never be what it was. It can only be what it is. The only way any event can "get better" is by the support of those that support the event. Folks not supporting the event because it may or may not reach their expectations will never advance the event.

The No Rules Just Ride philosophy of the Florida Crew seems to of left a void in some areas. I guess folks have a need for something more and the Just Ride part is not as dominating as we had hoped.

Do we pick a leader because of superior intelligence, because they work the hardest or a leader that leads by consensus with a limited number of rules to make sure everyone has a good time. Maybe a Board of Directors of all those to make sure everything meets expectations. Then of course we will need release forms and such. I have not participated in a HOG event in several years and they keep plugging along without me. Officers keep things going with all constant change in membership.

We had a good run. Things happened and a few folks moved on. We can all work together and make another run or we can just stay home and let the Florida Crew die a natural death.

Well I had a great time, I hadn't been to one before so I had no expectations. We rode plenty, it was cold, it rained Saturday night, the PBSO guys were a hoot at the karaoke, I enjoyed hanging out with people I know and some I hadn't met before.

I'll be there next year for sure.

I had a great time also. Lots of good riding, new roads and even some new toys. It's all what you make of it and I will be back next year, if not sooner.

What the Rally is to me. No Rules Just Ride "Quote "AND WE RODE", I met up with some old friends, some new friends, seen some friends I haven't seen in some time. We stopped and ate at some great places, I had a fish rueben that I could only eat half, and if you know me, I can eat. We went out to eat the first night and looked around, Carol and I was the only ones with out a badge, go figure! Seen some friends only for breakfast once, they had to go home unexpectedly, hope they are doing good. Missed seeing some old friends, hope to see them soon. The Motel lets all of us have as much fun as some of are willing to do, can't beat that. Bbq dinner on Saturday night, breaking bread with friends, it's not what the meal is, as much as who is around the table! Carol and I had a very good time, we will be back. Thanks David & Carol

EXACTLY what Gator said. The rally and FLCrew is only as strong as it's members. We don't need a leader, we don't need committees, or forms, or anything like that. What we need are NEW ATTITUDES! We need people to STEP UP and stop waiting for the party to come to their door.

From the outside looking in, it appears so easy to hold a rally like the ones FLCrew used to have in the past. What isn't so obvious is that it takes the blood, sweat and tears of people who contributed to make those fun rallies happen.

Feather boa's don't drop from the sky. Custom bbq cookers don't magically appear on our doorstep. Bottles and bottles of booze don't spontaneously brew itself. I think back to the FIRST rally I went to and I KNOW numerous people gave their time, effort, money, and positive attitudes to make that rally what it was. Those people moved on and those that tried (and SUCCEEDED) and taking their place were met with bad attitudes, ungratefulness, and more aggravation than rewards.

To those that TRIED in the past few years, my hat is off to you. I appreciate your efforts. Some of you may remember that I stepped up to the plate for the 2013 rally, and I think I succeeded in having a fun rally, but obviously that wasn't good enough, since I got yelled at for the quality (and quantity) of the BBQ and according to other opinions last year rally sucked. I guess BBQ, jello shots, a wall of beer, and a custom cake makes for a sucky rally. I won't even go into trying to get the games off the ground. It's kind of hard to play bike games when NOBODY WANTS TO PLAY!

So, my challenge for the FL CREW for next year is this. If YOU want a better rally, if YOU want fun times, feather boas, bike games, and stuffing 42 people in a bathroom, step up to the plate and make it happen, like so many other people have in past years.

Otherwise, STFU about the rally and just ride...

or go find a HOG Group that has some kick *** rallies.
