Right down the road... are there many rides/gatherings in our area posted here? i've scrolled through a few pages but don't see much in this area.
I have only seen a couple. I have only lived here since July and have been working on some renovations at the new house so I have only been out on the bike a few times anyway. I hope to get some rides in before the heat returns!!
I'm in the southern Hillsborough County area. Not a lot of activity on the forums for Hillsborough County. I have been a bit busy on the weekends lately but hoping to have more free time soon so if you post something I'd join in when I can.
From Lakeland you can go any direction and end up on a all day ride . Jump on 33N up to Groveland area and decide where to go next. Leesburg, Homosassa, Cyrstal River, Ocala, Daytona. Wanna go south? Make you way over to Hwy 60 and jump on either 17 or 27 down towards Sebring, Lake Placid or like we did a couple weeks ago take the trip down to the TikiHut on Lake Okeechobee, that's a good days ride from this area.
And one more tip, if you are planning to go to Daytona for either event, stay off I4. Take 33 to 19 to 44 into New Symrna or pick up 95 for those last few miles...I-4 is a mess over by the theme parks.
Thanks Pat. I frequently head towards the Groveland / Clermont area, but haven't been south in about 10 years. I'm all too familiar with the I4 theme parks area traffic - that's my daily grind.
I'll keep an eye out for rides posted in this general area, and will set something up before too long if no one else does.
