Default Where to go?

So here's the deal.....the wife and I are heading to Florida for our first time ever for some R&R in April/May.Going to be staying at Siesta Key for 8 days, and I'm feeling renting a bike from Sarasota Harley for a day, just for something to do.Gonna have the wife with me 2up 'cuz she don't wanna ride her own where she doesn't feel comfortable.Where would be some good/casual riding we could go for a day,and still be back to return the bike by 5?Want something mellow because I don't normally ride 2up,and I will be unfamiliar with the area as well. Not looking for twisties or anything like that, but would like to see some Florida sights if possible. What you got?

This is Florida, you don't have to worry about twisties, or hills for that matter. I don't know a lot of Sarasota sights but if you want some ideas on day rides you may consider running out to Herb's Limestone Country Club, about 40 miles east, I think they have a web site for more information. Or, if you want a longer ride a run down to Café 27 in Weston FL could be fun. I would take I-75 south to exit 101 (Collier Blvd) so you can get on Rt. 41 toward Miami. From Sarasota it would probably be about a 4 hour run without stops and most of it through the glades.

You know the Florida Dragon? 11 turns in 312 miles.

You could go over to Sebring or around Lake Okeechobee though it's not the prettiest lake as there are very few vantage points. There are some small towns around Sebring, it's very rural.

On 41 South there is Joanie's Blue Stone Crab Cafe, quite cool. Also check out Solomon's Castle somewhere near Sarasota.

The ride out to Lake O is nice...head down to Clewiston to Roland Martins Marina for lunch.http://www.tikibarandgrill.net/menu.php its all farm land heading out through central Fla. Cattle, and sugarcane fields. You go through a couple of small towns. Its a different side of Florida than folks are used too.
Jump on rt 41 south (caution a lot of stop lights) head south to Venice if the beach is more your thing. Hit Sharkey's Pier https://www.sharkysonthepier.com/ cool place, most of the Snow Birds should be gone by that time.
Just reread you first post......about having the bike back. Clewiston would be about 120 miles one way....good roads but maybe farther than you are looking to ride. Still nice out in central Fla though. Venice is only about 12 miles south of you.
Good luck welcome to Florida.

From Sarasota make your way north to 64 and head east over to 27. Go north and ride the Scenic 17 hwy near Lake Wales or head south down to Sebring or Lake Placid areas. As mentioned before you could ride down to Clewiston to Roland Martins place for lunch, but the last 60 miles or so is a pretty boring, straight ride..
